Yes. Digital marketing, AI marketing and answer engine optimisation training can be claimed under HRD Corp's SBL-Khas scheme, provided the programme is delivered by a registered training provider with an accredited trainer, and your company is a levy-paying employer.

Who can claim
If your company pays the HRD Corp levy, you have a levy account with a balance sitting in it.
Most employers underuse it. Some discover at year end that they have been paying in for years and claiming almost nothing back.
The levy is your money. Training you would run anyway can very often be paid for out of it.
What SBL-Khas actually is
SBL-Khas is the scheme where the employer applies for the grant before the training happens, and HRD Corp pays the training provider directly on approval. You are not fronting the cash and waiting for a refund.
The practical sequence is:
You pick the programme and the dates.
The training provider gives you the course details, trainer accreditation, and a quotation.
You submit the grant application through the HRD Corp portal, before the training date. This is the step people get wrong.
Approval comes through, training runs, attendance is recorded.
Claim is submitted with the required documents.
The most common failure is applying after the course has already run. Build in lead time.
What makes a programme claimable
Three things have to be true.
The provider is registered. Registered training providers have a TP number. Ask for it. If a provider cannot give you one, the programme is not claimable, whatever the marketing says.
The trainer is accredited. HRD Corp accredits individual trainers separately from providers. A registered provider using an unaccredited trainer is a problem.
The course is registered and the delivery meets the requirements. Contact hours, attendance records, and course content all have to line up with what was approved.
That last point matters when a provider bundles a topic into a course that was never registered under that name. If you are told a session covers something and it is not in the registered outline, that is a claim risk for you, not for them.
Is AI and AEO training claimable, specifically
This is the question we get most often, because the topics are new enough that employers assume the scheme has not caught up.
It has. What matters is not how new the subject is, it is whether the programme is properly registered and delivered by an accredited trainer. How to work out whether it is worth the levy
Levy money is still money, and "it's claimable" is not a reason on its own. Two questions worth asking before you book anything.
What changes on Monday. A course that ends with notes and no artefacts changes nothing. Ask what the team walks out holding: a live campaign, a written framework, an audit of their own numbers, a thirty-day plan.
Who is actually in the room. A trainer reading someone else's slides teaches theory. A trainer who runs their own ad budget and closes their own deals can answer the question your team asks at 3pm, which is never the question in the deck.
What to ask any provider before you commit
Your TP number, and the trainer's accreditation number
Whether the specific content you were promised is inside the registered course outline
Contact hours, and whether they meet the claim requirement
What lead time they need for the grant application
What the participants leave with, in physical or digital form
Whether there is any follow-up after the training day
If a provider hesitates on the first three, keep looking.

Do I pay first and claim later under SBL-Khas? No. Under SBL-Khas the employer applies for the grant before training, and HRD Corp disburses to the training provider on approval.
Can I claim training for a team of five? Yes. Claimability depends on your levy status and the programme, not on headcount. In-house delivery is usually more cost effective from around ten people upward.
