AEO, GEO and SEO training
for Malaysian teams.
One day, hands on, on your own website. You leave knowing whether AI currently names your company, why it does not, and what to publish next. HRD Corp claimable under SBL-Khas.
The short answer
SEO gets you found. AEO gets you quoted. GEO gets you recommended. They are three different jobs and most Malaysian teams are only doing the first one. If Google cannot index you, AI cannot cite you. If nobody outside your own website talks about you, AI has nothing to confirm, so it names a competitor instead. This course covers all three in one day, on your own site, with a written plan at the end.
Three disciplines, not one rebrand.
A lot of training sells AEO as SEO with a new label. It is not, and the difference decides what you should spend on.
SEO
Search Engine Optimisation. Getting indexed and ranked in Google's blue links. Still the foundation: if you are not indexed, most AI models cannot find you when they run a live search, so they cannot cite you either.
AEO
Answer Engine Optimisation. Being the source a machine lifts a direct answer from: Google's AI Overview, featured snippets, voice results. Driven by structure, schema and how cleanly your content answers one question.
GEO
Generative Engine Optimisation. Being named inside a generated answer in ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity or Claude. Driven much less by your website and much more by what trusted third parties say about you.
"AEO" already belongs to someone else here.
Google's own AI Overview stops to disambiguate the term in Malaysia, because AEO also means Authorized Economic Operator, a Royal Malaysian Customs trade compliance programme.
That is not trivia. It is a live example of why entity disambiguation matters: if a machine cannot tell which thing you are, it hedges, and hedging means it names somebody clearer. We use this exact case in the room, because it is local, current and checkable while you sit there.
What actually decides whether AI names your company.
1. Indexing
If Google cannot find you, AI cannot find you on a live search. Solid SEO does not compete with AI visibility. It makes AI visibility cheaper to earn.
2. Entity consistency
One story everywhere. When your website says one thing, LinkedIn says another and a proposal says a third, a model does not pick the best version. It gets cautious.
3. Retrieval readiness
How easily a model can lift a clean answer out of what you published. Structure, schema, question-shaped headings, and answers that stand alone without the paragraph above them.
Only a small share of AI citations come from a company's own website. The model reads your site, then goes looking for a third party to confirm what it found. If nobody else is talking about you, there is nothing to confirm. That is the part most teams never work on.
What we actually do, in order.
Morning: diagnose and position
- Run your category query across ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overview, live, on your own brand
- Audit what a stranger would conclude from every place you appear
- Map your entity: what you want machines to recognise you for
- Write the positioning statement that makes your buyer self-select
Afternoon: build and publish
- Structured data and schema on your own pages
- Build one retrieval-ready content asset from scratch
- Mine customer language so the content answers real questions
- Leave with a 30-day plan written before you go, not "when things calm down"
Co-delivered with Kenny Lee, SEO and AEO specialist, who handles the technical side while Stephanie covers positioning, content engineering and conversion.
We sell the outcome we got.
On 25 September 2026, Google's AI Overview for "aeo workshop malaysia" named Rise Digital first, in the opening sentence. AI Overviews are personalised and volatile, so treat that as dated evidence rather than a standing claim. What follows is client work.
ISUN Education, Singapore
Zero sales to six figures in 10 months, on half the previous ad spend. The agency before us produced no sales at all.
What we did, in order: fixed the offer, rebuilt the Meta ads against it, introduced consultative selling, then installed appointment setting. The money was not being lost in the sales call. It was being lost before and after it.
Healthcare, Malaysia
444 leads in three months on RM4,000 to RM5,000 a month of ad spend, roughly RM30 a lead.
A separate dental client went from zero to 43 leads in 10 days on a RM500 budget, after we fixed messaging that was quietly undercutting a premium price.
ClickAsia, e-commerce enabler
2.6x GMV. 47% less ad spend with sales held. One video from 918 to 82,000 views after hooks were mined from real customer language instead of written from scratch.
27 marketers trained, managing 70+ e-commerce brands. Measured 30 days after day one. Same people, same brands. What changed was how they worked.
Rooms we have trained
2,000+ professionals trained. MIEA, Malaysia's largest real estate agent network. Sime Darby Property. PropNex. Naim. ClickAsia. INSEAD MBA C-suites live across Abu Dhabi, Singapore and Paris. Swinburne.
Figures are self-reported by client teams at their own implementation reviews. Your results depend on your offer, your market and what you actually implement.
Where this does not work.
The clients who did not get the result have one thing in common: they would not change how the team sells.
AEO and GEO put better-informed people in front of you. If the follow-up and the sales conversation stay the same, better traffic just produces better-qualified people who still go quiet. We have watched it happen. If your team is not willing to change the sales behaviour alongside the marketing, this is the wrong spend and we will tell you so before you book.
Fees and HRD Corp.
Rise Digital Enterprise is an HRD Corp registered training provider, MyCoID 36116167453, course approval no. 10001743052. We send the quotation, invoice, course outline, objectives, methodology and trainer profiles as one pack and handle the claim documentation.
The grant must be approved before the training day. For public workshops that only needs to be three working days before, so a late decision is still workable. We cannot seat a claim still pending on the morning, and if that happens we move your people to the next intake at no cost.
Before you commit.
Is AEO just SEO with a new name?
No. SEO gets you indexed and ranked in Google's blue links. AEO is about being the source a machine lifts a direct answer from, in Google's AI Overview or a featured snippet. GEO is about being named inside a generated answer in ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity, which depends far more on what trusted third parties say about you than on your own website. Roughly 80% of the work is solid SEO fundamentals and nobody should charge you separately for that. The other 20% is entity consistency, structured data and retrieval-ready content.
Do we need SEO if we are doing AEO and GEO?
Yes, and cancelling your SEO work is the fastest way to disappear from AI. If you are not indexed on Google, most AI models cannot find you when they run a live web search, and if they cannot find you they cannot cite you. Solid SEO does not compete with AI visibility. It makes AI visibility cheaper to earn.
Is AEO and SEO training HRD Corp claimable in Malaysia?
Yes, under SBL-Khas at RM1,650 per seat, usual RM1,850. Rise Digital Enterprise is a registered HRD Corp training provider, MyCoID 36116167453, course approval number 10001743052. We send the quotation, invoice, course outline, objectives, methodology and trainer profiles as one pack and handle the claim documentation. The grant must be approved before the training day, and for public workshops that only needs to be three working days before.
Why does AEO mean something else in Malaysia?
Because AEO is also the acronym for Authorized Economic Operator, a Royal Malaysian Customs trade compliance programme. Google's own AI Overview disambiguates between the two when you search for an AEO workshop in Malaysia. It is a live local example of why entity disambiguation matters: when a machine cannot tell which thing you are, it hedges and names somebody clearer instead.
Can our marketing team not just learn this from YouTube?
They can, and we will send the reading list. The catch is that the published advice contradicts itself and what matters for a clinic is nothing like what matters for an e-commerce brand. In a workshop you work on your own site, get the answer checked on the spot, and leave with a written 30-day plan rather than a folder of bookmarks.
Who should not do this course?
Teams that are not willing to change how they sell. AEO and GEO put better-informed buyers in front of you, but if the follow-up and the sales conversation stay the same, better traffic just produces better-qualified people who still go quiet. The clients who did not get a result all had this in common.
